Gale Force Gospel normally meets in the hall at the back of St Andrews on the Terrace at 6pm on Mondays during school terms. 2022 Term 2 starts on 2 May.
We continue to also run a Zoom session of these rehearsals so that members who are unwell, or unable to get to choir that night, can still sit in on rehearsals remotely. A link to join via Zoom is available for members only (check the weekly email).
COVID Protection Framework (‘Traffic Light System’) — Guidelines for GFG (26 Jan 2022)
Gale Force Gospel Choir acknowledges that singing increases the transmission of aerosols and therefore increases the risk of contracting and transmitting COVID-19 to others. We have developed the following guidance for the choir for operation under the traffic light system, updated in late-January 2022, with the Omicron variant now being in the community. You can choose additional ways to protect yourself, e.g. wearing a well-fitting mask or joining rehearsals by Zoom.
We have referred to the guidance of the government and the New Zealand Choral Federation. If the risk of COVID-19 increases and Wellington goes into Red we will again seek input from the choir and review the guidance.
COVID-19 vaccination: Vaccine passes are required to attend rehearsals and concerts. Vaccine passes must be presented to show the expiry date and will be recorded on the attendance sheet. Non-vaccinated people are very welcome to join by Zoom.
Record of attendance: Scan the QR codes for both St Andrew's and Gale Force and sign in on the attendance sheet.
Reasons for not attending: Stay home if you feel unwell, are awaiting a test result, or have been potentially exposed to COVID-19 at a location of interest (make sure you join us on Zoom though!).
Masks: Masks are now required at Red. We are obliged to comply with the rules of the venue, St Andrews on the Terrace. Please wear a well fitting mask at all times. Note that all attendees are vaccinated which reduces the risk but we still encourage mask use to mitigate risk. There are specially designed singing masks available that give extra breathing space.
Physical distancing: At Red keep at least 1 metre clear around you, preferably more. If you spread your arms and spin round, you will be creating a good clear space. Distancing not required at Orange.
Hygiene: Wash your hands or use hand sanitiser and cough/sneeze into your elbow. Bring your own water bottle and avoid using the kitchen.
Ventilation: Will be increased by leaving the windows and doors open. Bring additional warm layers. Take responsibility for your own comfort.
Size of gatherings: At Orange there will be no limit on attendance of rehearsals or concerts, but at Red there will be a limit of 100 on gatherings, with 1 metre spacing between people, along with scanning.
There is an annual membership fee to cover costs of running the choir. You can also pay each term if you prefer. The price is the same if you pay by year or by term.
Please pay by the second Monday of the term and make payments online, details below.
Payment options for 2022:
