In the Room or On Zoom
Read COVID guidelines below (Oct 2022) and read the weekly email.
Gale Force Gospel normally meets in the hall at the back of St Andrews on the Terrace at 6pm on Mondays during school terms starting 5th Feb 2024.
We continue to also run a Zoom session of these rehearsals so that members who are unwell, or unable to get to choir that night, can still sit in on rehearsals remotely. A link to join via Zoom is available for members only (check the weekly email). A recording of this is available afterwards if you can't make it on the day you can catch up later.
Guidelines for GFG (Updated Oct 2022)
Gale Force Gospel Choir acknowledges that singing increases the transmission of aerosols and therefore increases the risk of contracting and transmitting COVID-19 to others.
Based on guidance from the Government and the New Zealand Choral Federation we developed the following guidelines for operation in the current situation. If you wish you can choose additional ways to protect yourself, e.g. wearing a well-fitting mask or joining rehearsals by Zoom.
Reasons for not attending: Stay home if you feel unwell, test positive for COVID-19, or have been potentially exposed to COVID-19 (make sure you join us on Zoom though!).
Record of attendance: Sign in on the attendance sheet when you arrive.
Ventilation: We will keep the space well ventilated by leaving the windows and doors open. Bring additional warm layers. Take responsibility for your own comfort.
Masks: Masks are recommended but not required. Some masks work better than others for giving extra breathing space.
Physical distancing: You can choose to keep distance from other singers if you want to, the hall is quite large.
Hygiene: Wash your hands or use hand sanitiser and cough/sneeze into your elbow. Bring your own water bottle.
